Why this site exists

Crossing the Causeway or the Second Link shouldn't require juggling three different apps, government portals, and Telegram groups just to find out how bad the queue is. CausewayRadar was built to fix that — one page, live data, updated every 60 seconds, showing which checkpoint to use and how long you'll actually wait.

What it covers

CausewayRadar monitors both land crossings between Singapore and Johor Bahru:

• Woodlands Causeway — the main crossing via BKE to Sultan Iskandar CIQ
• Tuas Second Link — the western crossing via AYE to Sultan Abu Bakar CIQ

For each checkpoint, the site shows live camera feeds, current approach travel times, estimated total clearance time (road + immigration), and a recommendation on which crossing is faster right now.

Where the data comes from

CausewayRadar uses official public data sources:

• Singapore LTA (Land Transport Authority) — Live road approach travel times and traffic camera images via Data.gov.sg, updated every 5 minutes.
• MBJB i-Trafik (Johor Bahru City Council) — Live camera feeds from the Johor Bahru side of the Sultan Iskandar CIQ complex.
• Singapore NEA (National Environment Agency) — Real-time weather and rainfall data at the checkpoint areas via Data.gov.sg.
• Historical patterns — Approach-time readings collected over time to build day-of-week and time-of-day baselines, used when live data is unavailable.
• Community crossing reports — Voluntary, anonymous reports from users who have just crossed, used to cross-check live estimates.

How clearance estimates work

Estimates combine two signals: the live LTA road-approach reading and historical patterns for the same time slot and day type. When a fresh live reading is available, the estimate is labelled live approach; when only historical data is used, it is labelled measured pattern or modelled. The basis is always shown so you know how confident the estimate is.

Times cover the total crossing — road approach plus immigration clearance — and are shown as a range (e.g. 25–40 min) to reflect real-world variability.
